Cant decide between the three, as Ive never played them. Although I have heard they are all very good. The recipient loves all the styles of these games equally, so its really just a crapshoot and which is better.

Blasphemous is very Souls like.

Beautiful art style, very grim dark.

Hades is probably more accessible though.

Havent played Dead Cells

Dead cells is not only the best but it's still getting updates and just got a major crossover update including shit from hollow knight, hyper light drifter, and some others.

I thought Blasphemous was very, very, very average but I like Dead Cells so far. No opinion about Hades.

Hades is the tightest but Dead Cells is solid. Blasphemous is not really in the same league imo

haven't played hades, doesn't appeal to me, blasphemous is more like castlevania, dead cells is great, but it gets more stressful than fun once you unlock expert mode

i think i'd give the title of "best" out of the two to blasphemous, and it also just got a free update, plus crossover content with bloodstained

Blasphemous I thought was personally terrible.
Environmental hazards only kill you, while your enemies are invulnerable to them and can do stuff like jumping through lava plumes or hopping around on instakill spikes without taking damage. Then there's like an inconsistency with platform heights where two platforms can be the exact same height but one can't be jumped on to from the ground height. Then there's like really weird things like how you can't do your falling downward thrust without doing a forward aerial slash first?? That really messes up your timing and keeps you from getting a preemptive strike on more powerful foes. Plus other odd things like not being able to drop through a platform while being adjacent to a wall.

Just replace Blasphemous with Bloodstained, far better game.

Haven't played Blasphemous, but I have played Dead Cells and Hades

I think Dead Cells is the better game

Hades is fantastic.

Blasphemous is creepily beautiful for Bloodborne fans but it's a very straightforward exploration game. I love it but between that and Hades, the latter is a better and anyone who plays it will be easily addicted.

Plus if you're buying Hades on physical, it comes with neat paper goodies inside and is only $20 now. Absolutely a perfect Xmas gift.

Hades is best, but Dead Cells is also great.

Blasphemous is good, but really shows its low budget, which the other two manage to disguise.

All of them are great

Blasphemous is very hard.

Dead cells is easy at first and gets very hard later

Hades is medium difficulty, great all around and the story is great.

It's not quite that bad. There's maps with guaranteed food & flask recharge shops so you can kind of plan around it and make sure you have enough gold to buy them.

It's pretty fucking brutal regardless.

There's also items like vampirism that can help keep your health up.

I found dead cells way too repetitive, altough I can see why people like it.

Dead Cells > Hades >>> Blasphemous

but DC and Hades are pretty close, i love 'em both and have over 100h in each.

Dead Cells used to be much harder but updates have made the starting difficulty very manageable. meanwhile i've been stuck on 3BSC (NG+++) for over a year. so fucking hard but i love it .

edit: i would say that Hades is the better game overall, but Dead Cells has the more fun gameplay

everybody expects a roguelite to have great gameplay but hades is also one of the extremely rare roguelites with a great story and characters.

Dead Cells rules, but Hades is best

This. Blasphemous is an unforgettable and unique game experience but Hades is overall the higher quality and lasting item here.

Dead Cells is awesome, The penitent one from blasphemous is a guest character. Blasphemous is a fun game as well. Honestly all three are pretty damn good

I love them all, but Hades is what I would give as a gift to someone else.

Blasphemous was actually a little underwhelming, imo.

It's not really as Souls-like as I had hoped and is a lot more akin to a normal Castlevania game. Also, the fucking font they chose for that game is hard to read.

It's still really good though but if you're thinking about Blasphemous and are thinking Souls, prefer Salt & Sanctuary which is actually good.

Hades is by far my favorite of the 3 but Blasphemous is pretty good as well.

I tried to get into Dead Cells but just couldn't. Something about encountering a DLC area and being told I had to purchase DLC to continue really turned me off from that game.

It's just good for being pick up and play (whether or not the combat gets hard, you know exactly what to do). And the dash is actually consistently useful for dodging enemy attacks unlike some similar games.

They're all great but I never got the love for Dead Cells. It's a fine game but man the difficulty spike from difficulty level to difficulty level is completely ridiculous. Goes from fun to wildly unfair in a snap.

Blasphemous is one of my favorite platformers. It's got crazy style, it's tough but fair, it feels so smooth to play. Only thing I didn't really like was the music but that's easy to turn off.

Hades is a fantastic game and there's so much stuff in it. There's not a huge amount of build or boss variety but what you get is so fun it doesn't really matter that much. There is an ungodly (haha) amount of voice lines in this game.

Started Hades a couple days ago and its been super fun. I didnt expect much coming in but I havent been able to put it down.

Hades might actually be in my top 5 games of all time. It's that fun, it's that addicting. 280 hours and growing into that game.
