Also took Cinder to the vet yesterday, because he had a wound on his leg wednesday that looked worse thurs. When describing it and not trying to give too many of our own theories, they got it right. He was bullied and attack by another cat, an unneutered tom cat, and he was bit on the back leg, so probably running away. "So we aren't the brave one, are we?" One thing I've noticed about the previous set, their behaviors have totally flipped. Sadie - used to run to you in the yard and follow you closely non-stop, fine with being held. Now darts away and screams for being picked up. Sofie - used to hiss and hide, now chases and trips you, chatting and politely demands to be pet/picked up. Sunnie - used to hang back and scream as if warning others "watch out, there's a hooman!", now she's super friendly and playful. Cinder - used to seek us for snuggles, now wants to just growl and be unheld. >:( cats Even these newer ones are interesting. It's also damn near impossible to tell them apart outside of 2 minute details, one which only I can somehow see. Misty - super chill and relaxed. Mirage - super timid and shy. Jett - bolts into the house any chance he gets. Jaxx - bites and grapples ankles. Might be wondering what the minute detail is for Misty/Mirage. They are nearly 98% mini-Mystic copies, so he can't deny playing a part in their creation. The difference is so subtle it's like the difference of raising a display's brightness by 1 or 2 ticks, as Misty is imperceptively lighter with more prominant brown. That's literally it outside of the slightly different ear tip cuts now. Oh yeah, and Furrball seems to have realized there's competition and is now gained back her appetite, gaining weight again... she was down to 4.6 pounds in the summer, which is a stark difference to her 8-10 pounds at one point. It only took months of on/off attempts, sardines, gaining of trust, 3 types of traps, and standing in 30 something fahrenheit weather... It felt bad, because of the absolute face of betrayal she had, but I finally caught the mama cat in a drop trap after she waited for everyone else to go under it for 20-25 minutes. It's a good thing too, as she's clearly gone into heat again and after 3 or more litters she needs to stawp. Now she's to be spayed and can still hang out if she wants. Was born in 2012 And idk. It's just one of those things where when you've seen them so much you just can. Maybe like how parents can tell twins apart.
