Not everything has to be deep and wild and different. Sometimes something safe and familiar is fun. I never got the point in ragging on music because it's simple and old. Listened to all the Scott albums over and over and over again. Then, when I was 12, Back in Black came out. I loved it too. I can remember sitting in 7th grade classroom and the teacher asking us what the 'hot' artist at the moment was, ad all us kids, "Back in Black!" After BiB, they dropped off for me...and a lot of my peers. For Thos about to Rock is one of the greatest rock anthems of all time, but the rest of the album (to 14 year old me) was rubbish. That was the end of my affair with AC/DC. Now they're just another band from my past that I've heard enough of over the DECADES and am fine never hearing again. I have a india ink tattoo of van halen I did when I was 15...never listen to them at all anymore. :) Beatles and Pink Floyd and The Doors...loved them all to death and used to be my 3 all time faves, don't care if I ever hear another song again. Bon Scott AC/DC = A+++ Brian Johnson AC/DC = 'meh' with 1 great record an 2-3 'wow' to come after.
