We force people to get vaccines all the time and the immunocompromised rely on herd immunity since they cannot get vaccinated. vaccine side effects other than basic stuff like arm soreness and mild sickness are nowhere close to a 5% rate. more like .0005%. it's such a small number it barely even gets talked about

5% was just a wild guess. I figured it isnt even close to that. The point is you dont make laws to protect such a small subsegment of the population.

unfortunately that time has passed my friend. Everyone who can not get the shot needs to start thinking about grocery orders online, online shopping, and staying indoors as much as possible. If they do go out, they need to mask up and stay socially distant.

we cant protect them anymore, there will be no mandates and so those who cant get the vaccine need to do what they can to protect themselves. Nobody else is gonna do it for them. People dont like wearing masks so they gotta be extra safe and careful now.

I will say I worded that poorly because we do make laws to protect small portions of the population. The difference is those laws come at no cost to anyone else.

While mask mandates and lockdowns can protect certain populations it has had a noticeable effect on the economy and business owners.

Vaccine mandates work. This was proven by the NYPD and FDNY, who talked a big game against it at first but fell in line by the vast majority when it was time to pay the piper. Mask mandates work - this was proven, among other things, by the report that the Missouri governor unsuccessfully tried to suppress. This is far from the first time the American public (and many of its politicians) has had to be dragged kicking and screaming into doing the right thing - I'm sure the Greatest Generation would love to tell you how much they willing sacrificed to win WW2, but in actuality there was plenty of wailing and gnashing of teeth when gas rationing had to be mandated after poor voluntary turnout. Republicans deliberately stonewalling these mandates purely for the sake of farming political points is not a good enough reason to say 'well we tried, and it didn't work, so fuck it.'

You don't have freedom to directly hurt other people and never have. Besides, the government has been mandating vaccines for decades.

How about we demand the government do good and go apeshit when they do bad? Slopes are only as slippery as you allow them to be. We should not avoid doing good because of the risk of being used for evil. By that logic, the mere existence of government is a dangerous precedent.
