I had a computer cop out on me and I had to reinstall McAfee on a new device.

Like, I literally reinstalled it a few weeks ago. Now I'm getting an email (no reply address) saying that my subscription is due to expire in February. When I log into my account, it says I'm good until October. I can only assume that I have two accounts under the same email. But there's no way to contact them and say, "Hey, cancel the one that's due in February." There is a 1-800 number which redirects to a 1-866 number. Maybe someone will pick up if I call back tomorrow during a weekday.

I would think that, in order for a rebill to be legal, they would have to tell you your account number in the email saying you're going to expire. Instead, they put all of the responsibility on the consumer. Could I call my bank and tell them to block billing from that source? A corporation shouldn't just be able to say, "You owe me $129 a year for the rest of your life."

Contest the charges with the bank or credit card company.

Go ahead and cancel both while you are at it.

I was able to cancel the one which expires soon - Thank God.

It's just crazy how difficult it is to say "stop billing me."

This is like a protection money racket from the days of prohibition.

Issue a charge back and when they ban you for violating their terms of service say thank you.
