Only 1 resistance to itself and most ice types have stats that lend themselves to tanking. Bug is supposed to be the bad type but I think ice is way worse.

Poison used to be really bad as well but Fairy being added in gen 6 (and it becoming one of the best types) helped it become decent.

I'd say rock is about as bad as ice. It's almost like a mirror image to ice where it's a great offensive typing but most of Pokemon with it are made to be more defensive, which doesn't work when it has so many weaknesses.

It should resist Flying, and resist Fighting instead of being weak to it.

What types should it resist, it's dumb that it only resists itself.

Zero value? Eh? Eh?

It's a decent attacking type, though not as good as Fighting or Ground.

But the defense typing is so bad it's almost not even worth having the type for STAB.

Just use Ice Beam TM on whatever the F can learn it and call it a day.

Not a fan of the complexity brought on by G2 onward

eh, breaking ice is a pretty common martial arts trick

I love Ice type, but you don't really get any mons until the endgame (any generation really), and yeah it kinda sucks

Poison type is comparatively awful

To fix Ice type you would need to give it one more type it is super effective against, increase the power of Ice moves by 50% and also make it so only Ice Pokmon learn ice attacks above 60 power. That would mean if you really wanted to get the most of Ice's hyper offense, you'll actually need to use Ice-type Pokmon and the offense would be so good that you just might consider it, despite the weaknesses that come with it.

Even still a lot of Ice types would be garbage because they are slow and bulky, despite being the worst defensive type in the game.

In my opinion, grass is easily the worst. Most grass types aren't very good stat or ability wise. I can't think of a reason to use almost any of them over water types.

Its weak offensively vs dragon, fire, and flying which is a pretty big deal. And while it does hit water 2x......most water types can, and do utilize ice types moves regularly.

And even defensively its not strong against any of the more dangerous offensive typings either. That includes water becuase most of them can use ice moves.

A whole bunch of heal and health drain and stat/status fuckery.

Ice is a great type to have an attack on one or two guys as a check but not really worth a slot on the team unless you're going full Hail.

Rock can have a little more luck mostly from the actual Pokemon but also runs into Sandstorm need.

Grass at least has three great resistances (Electric, Ground and Water) and wide variety of good support moves to give it something fairly unique and would encourage their use.

The whole Ice type is basically rendered obsolete by the fact that seemingly half the Pokdex learns Ice Beam.

Grass wavers, but last I left the Sword and Shield meta, the grass starter was basically shaping the tier list since it had Grassy Terrain and a priority move. You never really see that with Bug or Ice or any of the "weaker" types. Grass just tends to have a lot of utility since individual mons can be built to excel in Sun or Rain teams as well.

Grass has some stuff going for it though.

- Ground, water, and electric resistances, which are fairly common attacking types (especially ground)
- Grassy Terrain + Grassy Glide combo (this is what makes Rillaboom so strong since it an auto set the terrain + has access to Grassy Glide)
- Many of them come with Leech seed + powder moves to spread Paralysis + sleep. They're probably the best at setting sleep since sleep powder is more accurate than any other sleep moves (and though it's very limited to like 8 pokemon, Spore has 100% accuracy.

It's not a particularly great type but I'd say it's better than ice, rock, and maybe bug.
