I remember people taking this seriously for The Last of Us Part II last year lol. Which has now crept up to a 5.7 userscore.

It seems to have gotten a lot worse over the last few years. I remember it even happened to Astral Chain.

Why is there even a user section on Metacritic. You just know any major release is going to get review bombed (this includes positive review bombs from fanboys who refuse to acknowledge any faults in the game too)

The biggest issue the critic score has is also how fanboys and gamers take it so seriously.

Critic scores have their own problems.

I guess what you can do is weave through all the junk and bias rubbish to find a review that seems to be critical but fair. If you have a good head on your shoulders, it shouldn't be too hard.

I also rely on Youtubers like Angry Joe, he has seemed to be one of the most honest ones out of the bunch so far, regardless of what you think of him. I would have said the same about Yongyea until his whole bullshit Cyberpunk review.
