It's not hard anymore. Anyone can do it now in 2021. It has gotten so trivial that there now are traffic jammed lines up the mountain from so many climbers

Everyone with enough money can just hire expert guides and tools that will give them a 100% chance of reaching the peak. Even if you are disabled

yea, I've heard climbers dump a lot of garbage, and for the people who unfortunately die, their remains can't be taken back since it's so perilous, so there are a bunch of bodies up there

There are usually lines of people waiting to reach the top on good days.

It's not special anymore.

I mean, no. Your average fatass can't do it even with a guide. You have to train

The man himself Sir Edmund Hilary pointed the same thing out in an interview when he criticized several climbers for ignoring David Sharp when his life was in danger. He believed summiting Everest was not worth sacrificing the life of someone else in need, especially when the act had already been done to death so many times that it was trivial for anyone with money.

It's called the "rainbow valley" due to the bold primary colors on a lot of the clothes worn by climbers who died along the trail.

You literally hike past dead bodies, because it's too dangerous to retrieve them. Probably the most famous is one called "Green Boots", because of (you guessed it) the green boots the body has on.

The Everest corpses though are quite interesting.

It's my understanding the Sherpas tried to clean out as many of those as they could, but some yet remain.

No, they must remain. Just sad that they put themselves in that position.

As far as I'm concerned, the title belongs to the first 3. After that it's like, ok, find another mountain.
