it will be determined by the size of the main overcurrent protection device depending on the home.

most homes are 150A now. 200A is a common configuration as well. Some are still stuck at 100A.

if you have a 200A main you should be equipped with a NEMA 14-50A for EV charging. 14-30A is fine for 150A homes, it just wont charge as fast.
