This, our firm is doing the same because we're getting +1000 applicants and there is no way in hell we are going through all of them.

Entry level jobs now want experience and college degrees and stuff. Its unrealistic, but they have sky high job requirements and want to pay you mcdondalds wages. Nobody gets a college degree to make $12/hr.

Hell, you could apply to Target and start at $15 with no experience lmao

Nah, we're using some service to filter our resumes already, the problem is I think most people are wising up to the filter's algorithm so we have to add more scary stuff to scare people away. I mean our level entry job is paying 70k+benefits, so it's very attractive for an associate accounting position.

Exactly. There are so many places who want to pay &15/hr or less that demand a masters degree and experience. You can barely scrape by with $15/hr in most places and that little money wont help pay off college.

$15/hr is the new $50k-$60k per year to so many places.

I recently applied to a mom-and-pop business that just opened up, that was looking for entry-level graphic designers. I applied, showed them some of my work and their response was to the effect of "if you haven't had much professional experience, why should we hire you?".

Its because recruiting is BS and employers dont know what they need. There's job for technologies that require like 10 years of experience when the technology they request was only created like 3 years ago... tells you a lot about the quality of the company lol. Not even the creator of the technology would qualify to their random ass criteria.

The entire hiring process tbh

Lots of jumping through hoops, lack of transparency and HR managers that know nothing about the job.

You spend 30 minutes of a resume and never hear from a human from that company ever again lmao

And oftentimes drug tests. Youre expected to never have a private life. When youre not at work, you are supposed to sit around in your work clothes or uniform with your phone in hand, eagerly staring at it, waiting to be called in without notice to work.

Doctors appointment? Cancel it. Giving birth? Wait another day. Someone you know passes away? Tough.

It's what our HR team is doing, but this year is the one where they're getting the most resumes so they're already backlogged. I knew increasing the wage from 63k to 70k would've resulted in this happening, but no one from top management ever listens to my advice lol.
