I'm going to get tested tomorrow. I spent all weekend around thousands of people in an enclosed space. Everyone there is supposed to be negative for COVID or vaccinated but I still feel a little sketched out about the whole thing.

Smart. A lot of companies and events are just giving lip service so they can keep operating. They don't actually care to spend the appropriate amount of time and resources living up to their word.

The guy who ran the event is someone my age (so Millennial) so I trust his judgment about how serious he was about ensuring a safe space but there's too many variables in play for me not to.

For one the side effects could knock me out of work. They see nothing as an excuse to miss work. The only exception is the COVID protocol, which I am now under.

Regardless, it is absolutely appalling that places won't even give you the leeway to miss work to recover from the fucking vaccine that stops someone from missing work for even longer periods of time.

Vaccine reactions are generally overstated, but rest assured those reactions differ between generations. The older you are, the less reactive your immune function is. This doesn't mean your immune system isn't working, it just means your immune system doesn't overreact to every little thing that gets thrown its way, including vaccines. Being in the 35+ age category, two jabs of the Moderna vaccine were a walk in the park for me. There was nothing after the first jab, and only a minor fever and malaise for about 12 hours after the second one.

People seem less reactive to the Pfizer vaccine since it's a lighter dose than the Moderna, so that's also something to consider.

I'm in that age group too and also had moderna. felt mildly sick for a few hours for one of the shots but not the other (don't remember which) and had arm soreness but I guess that's just what happens with shots into muscle. It was fine a few days later.

I think it really depends on the person doing it. I had to get a negative test to come back to USA from Turks & Caicos and it wasn't bad at all.
