We have three indoor cats (2 adult and one kitten) and we tend to be quite proactive in sorting the litter tray out but cant help but realise despite this the house still stinks.

They have those self cleaning ones that work pretty well. Also, keep it far away from where you usually are. Like in a basement storeroom or something.
If neither of those are options, use the ones with a top on them. It keeps the scent in better and gives the cat some privacy. Some cats don't like this though because they're not fans of concentrated piss smells either. They'll start going outside of it if they feel it's too stinky. --- I don't believe in belts. You have a cat. Part of your place is going to just smell like cat piss or litter. That's kind of what you signed up for. As other people are saying in this topic, the best you'll be able to do is hide the litter box as far away from where company would be and do your best to isolate the smell, but it's always going to be there.

By getting Covid and losing the ability to smell.
Okay serious answer is a litterbox. You gotta make the cat comfortable in the house and especially the litter box. Feed it a good diet. A scared, unhealthy cat is gonna spew nasty shit everywhere or wherever it can hide. Regular cleaning of the box and maybe some airfreshner or fragrant plants can also help. Just make sure the plants/freshener are liked by the cat and/or not an overpowering scent. --- My Mario Maker 2 Maker ID is J2K-RFD-K4G Even In sigs FOE! http://i2.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/000/665/328/d75.gif ... with 3 cats id make sure to have 2 ENCLOSED littler boxes, preferably with swinging entrances to trap in odor. scoop each of them every day and change the litter out every 1-2 weeks for each. if you have to only use one box then scoop atleast twice a day and change it every week. when it comes to changing the litter make sure you also clean the litter box with soap, bleach and make sure to dry it off before putting the new stuff in.
and make sure they arnt going somewhere they shouldnt be and you just cant find it. also maybe invest in an air purifier. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Cats plus one for litter boxes, first off. 3 cats should have 4 boxes. Don't waste money on scoopable, go for the cheaper stuff, dump and replace twice weekly. I always get the comment from guests that they would have never known we had cats because there is no hint of a smell.

3 cats = 3 litter boxes.
You really need 2 litter boxes. They will mostly use one for #1 and the other for #2. Also, use Tidy Cats Non-Clumping Litter (or just plain clay pellets, cheapest litter from Wal-Mart). By regularly scooping their box. Also go to the baby aisle at Walmart or store of choice and see if they sell scented diaper disposal bags. It'll cut down on the smell. Not 100% mind you, but enough.

Clumping litter + crystals and scoop a few times a day z especially before bed and first thing when you wake up.
I also used to use paper clumping litter since it wouldn't track around my place, and that might help with the smell. I also vacuumed a few times a week. We had 1 cat and a litter box in a spare bathroom and that was fine. Then we got our second cat and her poops stank so much we had to start scooping at least twice a day.
When we moved I bought this litter box that auto scoops and tells us how many times it's been used. The replacement litter things are more expensive by about $15 per month total for us, but the house never ever smells like cat poop. It's been amazing, 10/10 do recommend.
