Autosaving can't be turned off, and some things also save permanently, even if you've had a backup secondary manual save. So say you spend some money, even if the save file says it was 20 minutes ago and was before you spent it, there's no do-over to get the money back when you reload that save.

And there is now a save rollback per a recent patch, but you need to restart from the previous chapter, then basically put in a cheat code to let you save your game again. The buttons to press to do so are only in the patch notes, and not in-game

I haven't installed my game yet but wtf. Seems really dumb and nearsighted to mess up such a foundational aspect of saving in video games...

Yeah, but there's ways of getting some of the items without paying for them, like talking to a certain character or doing a side-thing beforehand.

You don't get more money in the game after they do the "job" near the beginning, and the idea is you're supposed to save some for an event later in the game (which doesn't softlock it or anything, thankfully). So you're supposed to be frugal...but at the same time, there's no indication that spending it is permanent even with multiple saves prepared in case you wanted to see what happens when you buy something

Money is basically an illusion, especially if you do that one cutscene in Chapter 6 correctly.
