Current Events > Most gen 1 Pokemon are literally just animals

HylianFox 11/30/21 1:11:06 PM #1:	Caterpie, Pidgey, Rattata, Spearow, Ekans, Zubat, Growlithe, Slowpoke, Seel, Krabby, Exeggcute ~~(why have one egg with a face when you can have SIX?)~~, Horsea, Goldeen, Tauros, Magikarp, Eevee, Omanyte, Kabuto, and Mew are all pretty much just "basic animal, but with a slight twist" and even then there's usually not much of a twist. Solar_Crimson 11/30/21 2:45:08 PM #16:	Actually, I think the Gen 1 Mons had a more "monster" design element to them, likely because in the early days, Pokemon existed alongside real animals as the setting was just our world, but with Pokemon. Later on, as they started establishing the Pokemon world, they started having the Pokemon outright replace the animals, and the Pokemon started looking more and more like animals than they had been before. SSJPurple posted... Yet theyre still better than most of the Post-Gen 3 crap like ice cream cones and s*** Nah, it's about the same.
