Im an omnivore because its a whole lot easier to get kids to eat a balanced diet that includes meat and dairy, but as soon as theyre old enough Im going back to vegetarian with dairy and egg.

Cheese was one of my binge eating disorder trigger foods for decades, so I have this automatic response when I see it on TV or whatever, even after almost four years of being vegan. It's not a craving but just like a little twitch in the back of my brain, almost the same as when I see a beer (also an alcoholic). That opening of TMNT II really gets my brain screaming, probably because the added factor of nostalgia. I don't think I'll ever really be able to re-wire my brain away from that, considering all the cheese I've eaten in my lifetime.

Fortunately, it's totally different when I'm actually around it, mainly because cheese smells so bad to me now. I also found out just how severely lacking in lactase persistence I am, so I really have no interest in eating it.

Meat is pretty much always off-putting though. I don't eat them much as is but if the alternatives like Impossible and Beyond get any closer to the real thing, I probably wouldn't eat them anymore.

There's vegan pizzas with nut cheese that tastes just like it. It's not the same consistency, but that's a plus for me. I always hated choking on messy stringy cheese.
