About to see right now at the theater. Never was a big fan of the original live action movie series, but I'm willing to give this a shot since it's actually following the story of the games.

I'm sure I'll open this topic back up in 2 hours with how much B8's other RE fans loved/hated it.

That was certainly a movie.

Very abridged versions of both the RE1 and RE2 stories to fit into one movie. Lots of little references sprinkled throughout for those that have played the games.

Quite a few changes too

Chris and Claire's backstories are very different

Wesker is almost an entirely different character than he is in the games

They lean hard into Leon being a rookie and being inept at his job

Sherry is found by the wrong duo

Lisa Trevor was a face

Raccoon City imploded instead of being nuked

Although it kind of nailed the B tier acting of those 2 games translated into a movie

How was the CGI? It looked dreadful in the trailers.

I feel like there wasn't actually a ton of CGI

The dog's looked kind of weird

But I thought Birkin's final form looked fine
