It was by their name if I remember well.

Mr./Mrs./Miss for teachers, Dr. or Prof. for professors

I always found it really weird when teachers wanted to be referred to by their first names >_>

Yeah. I have no idea why. I'm pretty sure they all had PhDs or something, so they definitely had prestigious titles. But not a single one was called by anything other than their first name.

One of the 5th grade teachers at my elementary school was called Dr. Baldwin. It confused the students because she was the only one anyone called "Dr."

I called a teacher mum once by accident though, does that count?

Mr/Mrs for the first couple of years. Then for the last 3 years I went to a different school where the older students (16 years and older) could call the teachers by their first name. It was pretty much the only school to have that in my area, along with some art schools where there basically weren't any rules anyway.

literally from kindergarten and onwards we call teachers by their first name.

i saw a tik tok video of somebody "pranking" teachers by calling them their first name and watching them freak out... like get off your high horse xd.
