I think it's dumbfounding how a lot of basic things still require a million steps and how most interfaces are ugly as shit but I'm really getting tired of Windows.

For college I've used Ubuntu and Fedora. But its mostly Terminal work. I want to get an old laptop and throw Mint on it, or one of the other versions.

I was thinking of picking up Linux again but I dunno. I mostly game on my home PC so it would just be a self education thing and Id probably forget a lot of stuff after a while since I wouldnt be living in it

ive used Mint in the past and it was good. Ive heard Rocky Linux is great but thats more catered at enterprise and more specifically servers. Ive also heard good things about arch Linux but thats a lot more build it yourself than a whole package
Debian is tried and true and always reliable and will never disappear

I was using Ubuntu 16, but the support has gone to hell. I updated to 18.04 and it was disgusting; heavy, buggy, a complete mess. I updated again to 20.04 and it's still crappy. I now use MX and Ubuntu. I'll probably ditch Ubuntu in the near future, it's simply atrocious these days.

I've used a lot of distros over the years. I started out with Red Hat 7.1 and remember when Fedora first came out (originally called Fedora Core). Out of everything over the years, I'd say most of what I've used was based on either Debian or Gentoo. I've also used FreeBSD a lot. Preferred DE would be some variant of KDE, but I've dabbled in tiling WMs like Xmonad too (can't say I recommend it)

Now I use macOS. Take that as you will lol
