I've just got the 4th badge. My "end result" team was going to be 3 starters + Electivire, Togekiss, Lucario. I got Togepi and Elekid (and an Electrizer!).

Really enjoying the revamped underground. A lot of fun.

I haven't used my main squad that much, I've mostly been trying to fill up the dex. I think I have 86 caught Pokemon right now? I never did it before Sword and Shield but now I catch everything in sight. I guess my enjoyment of games has shifted to the completion aspect of things.

I haven't played the originals since release so I forgot how repetitive the encounters you get are. Ponyta, Geodude, Starly, Bidoof all nonstop. I miss the DexNav that would let me know if there are encounters I haven't seen yet.

I don't mind the exp share thing because these games weren't hard to begin with. I wish trainers would be "forced" to evolve their Pokemon. The rival had a level 19 Starly when it evolves at what, level 14? Would at least make it a bit better.

The worse remake of any pokemon game. If you're on the fence and played Platinum already, don't bother. If you're on the fence and never played Platinum, play Platinum instead.

D/P are by far the worse games and the only saving grace to Gen 4 was Platinum and HGSS. These remakes completely take away what Platinum did to save D/P and kept what made D/P bad.

Yup, already reached Battle Zone. Now I am working on Pokemon IVs as I got the judge feature to check IVs. Furthermore, I am trying to farm for Mysterious shards to but slates and get me some legendary pokes at the Ramanas Park

Especially in the underground caves. I was absolutely raging last night trying to efficiently get my Electrizer but I kept running in to rocks.

Tbh I don't think they're that bad. The game was fun before so I'm enjoying it now. I wish they would have done more for sure but the changes to the underground are making it addicting to me.

I'm having a lot of fun with it. I expressed disappointment when the "leaks" were happening but I liked the original games well enough.

The trend with remakes was to have more cool stuff, they almost felt like romhacks of the original games. I was looking forward to that but it's not bad. Just not very new.

A lot of it is people just start REEEing that a game made primarily for children isnt tailor made for them as an adult.

Yeah, I couldn't use my traded starters because they kept ignoring me. I think Crasher Wake's badge ups the cap to 50 so I should be ahead now. I've just been rotating to circumvent that

Otherwise I am actually pleasantly surprised. Pretty bare bones, but more charming than I was expecting.

**oh, and from exploring the underground my starter is lvl 39, the rest in the the 30s... and the last story fight was lvl 16ish in galactic tower.

Forced exp share is the one thing that immediately turned me off. I can deal with everything else but that's the one feature I won't compromise on, if it was toggable like in X/Y that'd be great

EXP share is a godsend. Grinding in Pokemon is one of the worst, most monotonous gaming experiences ever.

I mean now that you can access your pc anywhere, I can now keep a party of 10-12 and keep them rotating out to keep the levels on par without overleveling. Seems more fun this way.

It actually made me realize that the reasons I hated Diamond and Pearl in 2006 were more than just "everything is slow."

Sinnoh is just awful. The layout is terrible. The game's pacing is just so devoid of any logic.

As far as the quality of the remake itself - I actually think it's pretty good. A bit TOO devoted to Gen IV for my tastes (TMs that break? Couldn't we at least bring back Gen V's convenience?) but the world, characters, etc are just so mediocre.

I'm really enjoyed it. I've just got to go head back to get my 5th badge and have been having a lot of fun with it.

I'm a little over levelled right now, but it kind of evens out by my team being terrible and me trying to avoid basic stuff like "switching" out in battle.

From my experience, the exp. share for all isn't really that big an issue. I've been doing basically everything I can between sections, and only got a little over levelled because Maylene and Wake have the same team levels. There's a bunch of awkward difficulty curves that basically move from being overlevelled to about equal (which were just crap difficulty spikes in the OG games)

Gen 2 had some odd difficulty spikes as there was about 3 gyms you could do in any order at one point and then of course everything in Kanto being level 45-50 and then the true final battle suddenly being about level 70ish to 80ish.

I like the map and layout of things. I don't think fhe pacing/characters are any different from the rest of the series... The stories in Pokemon games are usually garbage.
