I do sympathise pedophiles who understand their thoughts/urges are completely and utterly wrong and lock themselves away from the world because of it.

But, they are pedophiles, that is the name for it. Not a fan of this "minor attracted persons" label some are trying to push. Being a pedophile is wrong, no matter what. As said I sympathize with people who understand it's wrong, chemically castrate themselves, etc, but it's dangerous to try to soften the name.

Edit: I want to stress I sympathise pedophiles who do not act on their urges and take steps to ensure they do not hurt anybody. Child molesters can die in a fire.

I got moderated on this (justifiably) as I deliberately provided no context to start a debate, so I'll try again. With context.

We live in a society where pre-pubescent boys can be drag queens and grown men can identify as little girls and petition to legally use children's play facilities, high chairs in restaurants, being changed in toilets...and nobody says "no".

How long will it be until a child is coerced into identifying as an adult and it becomes a human rights issue and an actual debate? If this is followed to it's ultimate end we're going to make Sodom and Gomorrah look like Wonkaland.

As a previous post said, attraction to minors IS natural; it appears in nature, just as homosexuality does. But so do necrophilia and cannabilism...do we legalise those as well? I'm all for personal freedom, but we need to be drawing lines here.

It's society's bias that remains here. How pedophiles are being treated now is like how gays used to be treated in the past, where all of them are stereotyped as 'disgusting perverts'.

If you cant see the logic just ask yourself these questions:

1. Is it their choice for being born like that?
2. Do you think it is fair pedophiles who never committed any crime and refrain from urges are still grouped together and stigmatised by all those that don't?
3. Dont you find it hypocritical we defend LGBT but not this same group of people when in both cases, it's genetic?

Adults identifying as children isn't an actual thing and isn't close to being an actual thing and news of that are either attention seeking or genuine mental illness. Both pedophilia and necrophilia, as in the mere attraction are already legal, since you can't criminalize thoughts. Acting on it is very illegal. Cannibalism is actually not illegal. It's just that any method to obtain meat to consume is unless you're stranded. ftr sexually defiling a corpse is actually not a sexual offense in most places.

And things may be legal, but it doesn't mean we have to allow them or tolerate them. Several years ago we had a guy with a sexual philia about pavements, he was arrested having sex with a pavement near a school. Do we allow that? It's a victimless crime, so where's the harm?

I'll say it again, we have to start drawing lines...we did it in the UK in the seventies with the PIE men, and the word "no" needs to come back into fashion.

What is seen as OK and not OK changes with time. Give it time. Look at Gays, Lesbians, Trans. These were looked down upon at too in days past. With the ways things are going, Beastiality might be next.
