I have been unable to transfer any patients for months, but my census has gradually crept up to the point where I consistently have people waiting days in the ER for admits to the floor. And this is actually during a time when there are few covid cases in oklahoma. I see my county's daily average is even higher than same time last year but everyone thinks it's normal. I'll be getting mine soon and am glad it's now being mandated we have to be vaccinated as healthcare workers at last. In any case, I got a flu shot for the first time and I've already got my booster(Connecticut is letting grocery store workers participate in the first wave this time, which they should've have done in the first place because I got texts about some one new getting COVID goddamned constantly last year! It was terrifying). Even here, in liberal ass CT, lots of people just don't bother wearing masks inside. It's sad and discouraging. But then, even our elected leaders seem to be of the mind that this will all be over if we just believe hard enough that things are back to normal. And don't be a hero, TC.
