of course they have the same problem as sony and ms lack of fucking chips and other thigs to manufacture enough

It sucks that people won't get it by christmas, but I'm sure this is done to ensure they can meet the quota instead of having pre-orders being resold like it happened with basically every console for the past 10 years.

I just got my email and was getting ready to post a topic about this (bonus points for me for using the search function).

To be honest, I was sort of hoping they were going to tell me that mine would be in sooner than expected, which was Q2 of 2022. I would be a lot more upset if I didnt know they were limited one per account (and your account must have been made for a while to prevent scalpers from buying multiple systems by making email accounts/steam accounts.) I guess Q4 2025?

I don't think any of us distrusted valve, but most of us expected it would eventually be delayed specifically because of the chip shortage. It's not valve's fault, but valve's estimation of ship date was pretty unrealistic.

Kind of hard when consoles tend to be a bit of an arms race.

Sony for sure is not going to let Microsoft have a year to get ahead after the Xbox 360.

As someone who has clients from the supply side of things, it's 100% understandable. I have companies that ordered items back in June and won't even receive the shipments until Early 2022. The worst part, and what is causing the inflation, is that some of them are being charge "ocean freight" cost even if they didn't receive the item yet or on items that are not from the cargo ships. It's a problem that can be fixed, but it's not going to be solved anytime soon.
