Everything since has been trying to recapture MM2's greatness.

I voted 3 since it was basically a refinement of 2 and added the slide.

I don't like 4 nearly as much, with it's nerfed special weapons and boosted Mega Buster. It's also the only real Mega Man game I actually own on a NES cartridge. Capcom made the Robot Masters do close to double damage if they touch you in an effort to balance the difficulty for some reason.

3 for me. 2 was great as well, but like kelemvor said, 3 is a bit more refined. I don't really care for the other NES ones that much other than 2/3. I liked 9 a fair bit, haven't tried 10.

9 and 4 are the best by a pretty good margin.

1 sucks.

2 is the most nostalgic with best music. But it should have been called Metal Blade Man 2.

3 is ruined by the abhorrent and overly long bullshit after the robot master stages.

5 and 6 are nice to look at and have moments but shitty boss weapons.

10 is pretty fun buster only, but also has shitty boss weapons and isn't as well designed stage wise as 9.

9 stomps then 4 is a respectable 2nd place.

3 would be better if you didn't have to memorize it to enact the lag reduction strats. 10 should have been better in general.

Would've been 3 but the soundtrack was just too weak minus a couple tracks, went with 2

3>2, followed by a drop off. Not that the other games are bad 2 & 3 are just fantastic.

Unlimited, dont care its a fan game but it might as well be a mainline game.

It took me a while to find out that if you sit down and let the title music play it breaks down into one of the best 8bit rock tunes of all time.

As a kid I always pressed start as soon as possible.

I'll be 4's lone vote I guess.

Couldn't remember the JP name, thanks. Its better that the US version. I actually like it and I dislike most Megamans, except X1&4 and the GBA Zero series. ZX/A were okay.

1 is janky as fuck but has a weird charm to it

2 is way too easy even on the japanese version but it is admittedly very fun

3 has the potential to be the very best but its a very glitchy game and has slowdown problems due to it being rushed to release

4 is a perfect medium ground between the later nes ones and the older ones and has a bunch of amazing music

5 has great graphics and maybe the best robot masters in the nes games but i don't like the stages at all. music is ok but a little on the forgettable side

6 has something that feels very off about almost every aspect of it. the bosses are really poorly thought out, the graphics are drawn well but have a weird washed out color, tthe music has some great tunes but it's programmed in a way that sounds tinny and weird. i like it but it's a really weird game

9 is a great game but feels a little gimmicky in places. some of the best weapons since MM2, great bosses, gimmicky stages and forgettable music

10 feels like a slightly worse version of 9

overall 4 is the best imo

best music and super fun. just too easy. 3 i had on gb and it was pretty damn hard but never tried the nes version to compare. i've beaten all of them. just most were like 20 years ago.

i enjoyed 6 but seems i'm alone in that. that was the only one i owned on nes.

9 and it's not particularly close

6 is good, the weapons are so so but I honestly moreso find the issue with it is that half the game (the castle stages) are a snooze fest with nothing to show for them. Almost no new gimmicks, and the bosses don't have much to show.

Probably 9 I feel. 10 and 4 are close, and 2 is one of the most overrated games ever. The castle stages in 2 suck hard, the weapons are heavily unbalanced and in spite it's new additions it reeks of unpolish. Apparently it had a similar development time to 7, but by 7 they had the formula down to a T.

3 is my favorite (but flawed)

4 and 9 are arguably the best from the list. I personally like 4 a little more, but 9 is great.

I actually like 10 more than 9 and imo it has one of the best soundtracks of the classic series.

2 is good in terms of nostalgia, but it's even more flawed than 3.

1 is okay

5 can be fun, but it's so broken with the charged buster and 1-up drops that it loses appeal.

6 needs better weapons, and less suit changing.
