The Southwest population is booming, but never had and never will have the water supply to support it.
A crisis is inevitable at this point.

Then why do they keep trying to rebuild New Orleans instead of moving people out of there?

because its their home

people tend to prefer to stay in one place if they can manage it. You want them all to leave and come live around you?

Oh, so they don't actually migrate as needed?

They "manage it" because taxpayers across the country pay for the rebuilding.

Same as the water situation in the southwest. They won't move, they'll just get the rest of us to pay for expensive desalination processes so they can stay there. It's their home, after all! Who cares if it was a bad idea to live there in the first place?

that isnt true my dude

rural areas around the country are massively subsidized and funded by the industry of metro areas

lol...

https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/arizona/investigations/2015/10/30/could-saltwater-save-southwest/74412576/

Desalination plants on the Pacific coast to address the issue have been discussed and planned for years.
Not sure if you think the idea of something already in the works by officials is "lol", or the idea that federal tax dollars will end up helping to pay for something that's extremely expensive is "lol", but either way...

Mead in the span of 10 mins. claimed people will move when they need to, then admitted they'll resist b/c it's their home, and that's the best retort he has to contradicting himself.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

lol

The rich don't pay anywhere near their fair share in taxes, and even with total control of government, Democrats don't seem to be in any rush to change that.
The middle class is the group most burdened by taxes. And running up the debt costs us all, b/c then ever more of the federal budget goes to literally just paying interest on the debt instead of going to social welfare programs.

Using desalination plants to support population centers in the inhospitable desert is also really bad for the environment, if you at least care about that.

So what is it that you want, for all the people in the southwest to just disperse away from their lives and homes? Should people live in the southeast with all those hurricanes? Now the NorEasters are wreaking havoc on the northeast guess we cant have anyone live there

People are still moving there. The population in that region is growing.
It'd be one thing if it was people who've always lived there, but migration from other states to there is still encouraged. That's why Lake Mead is depleting so fast. The population it was meant to support has exploded. Nothing is being done to stem the blatantly obvious oncoming crisis. Like always, we'll just band aid it after the fact, at great financial and environmental cost.

lots of things are being done though like the CAP project and research into better desalination techniques will benefit the entire world
