If you don't get all of the destruction spheres from the temples the first time, you have to go back and get them. Except this time, there are ridiculously powerful Dark Aeons you have to battle to get back there. Dark Valefor at Besaid Island has 800,000 HP, and he's just the beginning. So now you have to run through some of the toughest enemies the game has to offer, to get Anima, to...defeat the much weaker final boss? I hate this.

Also what's worse is they never bothered to patch in the quality of life improvements for the ps4 like quadruple speed. They patched in FF 12's job change but not this? So annoying

In the original if you didn't get the one in Bahamut's temple you were locked out forever IIRC, so at least you can come back.

I wouldn't really call it gatekeeping if you can get Anima before the Dark Aeons even spawn.

One of Tidus's catalysts is behind Dark Bahamut if you miss it the first time too, y'know.

This is untrue. The destruction sphere is forced there. However there is an optional treasure that can be missed but it isn't important.

I had missed the one at Besaid so I had to use Yojimbo to instant kill Dark Valefor.
