They're probably trying to find a way to make it so that players will ultimately need to buy the new version instead of the free upgrade they promised. My guess is that the free upgrade will be modest somehow. You know they want to capitalize on a soft relaunch.

Fuck, they really screwed the pooch on this one. It's been almost a year since the game launched, and they're still releasing improvements and patch updates with no DLC in sight. I've basically forgotten about the game at this point.

Commendable for them to try and make right. Doesn't help it was exacerbated by the pandemic limiting just how much actual work could be done at the office.

Id really like to know, internally speaking, what the fuck went wrong with this project for it to be such a monumental failure and embarrassment off the heels of Witcher 3. If a documentary or a book with insider info came out, Id buy it.

Like all things in the industry, gross mismanagement was at the core. My understanding is they thought their shit couldn't stink, and had it roll downhill from there.

I enjoyed my time with Cyberpunk, and didn't experience half the jank that other people did. I also played it on a modestly powerful computer, with settings low enough that I could still have over 60 FPS with DLSS turned on.

Man Cyberpunk was such a disappointment. Glad I got the refund for it. Sad thing is that I could see a good game underneath it all, but it was just so fucking broken there was no way it was coming out anytime soon.
