Interesting. I already built a team with Kazuha/Raiden/Kokomi and looks like Childe could definitely slot in there, or maybe replace Kokomi and bring another electro... I'll have to look into this more, but looks like he could be a fun next project. Unless I pull Hu Tao, then he can wait a bit longer!

I'm trying to get better gear for Beidou; as one can expect it's not exactly going very well on my end either. One the bright side, I've got some fodder for Eula pieces. I had her with STSS, Atk sands and CR hat; now planning to go with phys% goblet and CD hat while trying out Serpent Spine on her.

Yes, his talent scaling and DPS scaling is nonlinear. He has a massive DPS spike at high investment compared to most other characters. But the nice thing is that you don't actually have to invest all that effort if you just want to have a good sub dps.

Okay, this fourth labyrinth definitely feels harder than the other three. The monsters are really tanky, and there's a fairly nasty mechanic where enemies will be surrounded by big electro circles and you constantly take damage if you're within them. What happened several times to me is, one of my characters would drop below 50% HP and I'd try to switch out or use a healing skill but I'd be stunlocked and then the electro field combined with multiple enemy attacks would just kill me.

I'm sure this won't be hard for anyone who can get 3 stars on 12-3 of the Abyss, but I'm going to have to be careful to get through.

I'll try again when I have time later. I'm really wondering what that final dungeon is like....

I'd been equipping all attack shikifuda because I really only used them to get through faster (and even then not often). But I'll definitely use the water one next time, and maybe also that geo one that helps you defend.

Also I'd been skipping the charms that raise defense or resistance every time, but they seem a lot more useful in this challenge.

Tartaglia's got a bit of a Ganyu Charged Shot scaling, especially when you factor in that it auto-applies Riptide

After getting him to C6 I decided it would be more fun to play him in bow stance with Raiden and do things like shoot Hilichurls and see if I could kill them before they hit the ground.

His charged shots (for me, at least) do like 11k damage. And then they proc the C4, which usually kills the Hilichurl and spreads Riptide to other enemies, which then procs the C4 on them, eventually causing them to die, spreading Riptide again. Shit's hilarious.

Charged shots into Venti's tornado is basically cheating

No. Cheating is when you use Albedo's elevator that puts enemies stuck in Venti's tornado into Tartaglia's melee range.

Given that his damage goes up the closer the enemies are to each other, that's like... infinite damage

The damage is just equal to (riptide damage) x (number of enemies in tornado)^2

Multiply THAT number by 2 if you have a C4 Tartaglia and then if anything actually dies in there you ^2 the whole thing again.

So I beat the last two dungeons. Obviously the last dungeon is just a challenge mode, but I do find the total lack of story or rewards (in fact, nobody even mentions its existence and there's no achievements or rewards for it) a bit lame.

That said, it gives some pretty clear hints about where the game is going. Namely, there's a lot of dendro/pyro BS and apparently that continues to do damage even when your character is off field. So that's interesting. It certainly screws with Zhongli.

The problem, though, is that it just isn't that hard. Which I find kind of surprising since seemingly the entire purpose of dungeon 5 is to be a challenge mode for high investment players.

One will protect you from the next X number of curses (usually 2)
One removes all curses from the floor

Structurally I would agree, but the difficulty (even the hard mode) is just too easy. And I don't even have hyper-DPS characters like Ganyu, Xiao and Hu Tao.

I would have to disagree there, because Mihoyo's definition of "hard" for Spiral Abyss is basically "as obnoxious as possible".

If they made it a legit challenge, it'd be fine though.

Fair, but I would counter that Labyrinth rewards being able to skill through it instead of it being a DPS check like Abyss is. Timer-based arenas will never appeal to me. At least Labyrinth offers variety.

I gotta disagree there, the tunnels and non-combat chambers mostly just waste time and offer nothing in terms of gameplay.

It's missing something really nasty to give the player a good reason to stack buffs. Like leyline disorders.

The tunnels have various buffs and debuffs, and offer much more than "oh look, here's another circular arena with nothing to look at".

tbh that's exactly what this whole event is, including these tunnels that mostly have speed buffs (useful because the tunnels exist to begin with) and healing (useless coz you can use a healer).

The tunnels also have traps, treasure, and cursed panels though. It's more like a regular domain. Like those one and dones they have scattered around.

I think an endurance fight instead of a DPS race would be a nice change of pace. That or at least some fights that are more about strategy than speed.

The game is far, far too focused on offense. I can only assume with Albedo and Itto coming, they're trying to bring defense back into the game in some way.

Hopefully they do better than they did with "you need healers now" during Kokomi's Abyss. You could literally just DPS through that shit, which defeats the point.

Also I wanna know how MiHoYo is gonna prevent C6 Noelle from going fucking HAM with the new Geo set and claymore, because she's already more than double-dipping with her DEF->ATK shenanigans. Adding an extra DEF->ATK multiplier on top of that with both her claymore AND set... that shit is gonna be some real broken math unless they deliberately make it not work.

You can already get Noelle to hit for 20k with every strike by just using Bolide and Whiteblind. The new set and claymore would nearly double that.

Yeah, I'm thinking Itto will basically be Noelle but stronger.
Especially with that new 5* sword, artifacts and Goro's buffing.

I still think geo-only teams will likely sweep the current meta away

Well that's not true, Whiteblind does scale correctly with it. But that's the crazy thing, it's only a 4* craftable and yet it boosts her DPS so much. If we get a 5* that boosts the stats that she wants, combined with a 4 piece artifact set that does the same thing, what she's going to be capable of is bonkers.

And Itto will be just freaking broken, because he'll have some of the best DPS potential in the game while ALSO being very tanky.

I find abyss better, and I hate abyss with all my heart, this event was just soooooooooo boring my god, first the text we cant skip, then running in the same room over and over and over and over and over for 10 minutes

While it's probably just a small damage increase the new Geo set has a much better condition that works on all geo characters.
