it made sense in the context of the story -

Damian would throw the baton at his head in frustration, and Nightwing would catch it.

but during a major fight in Arkham Asylum, Nightwing was distracted, so when Damian threw the baton at him, it caught him unaware.

plus iirc, it just caused him to have a bad fall, and him falling on a piece of debris is what killed him.

For the 3rd point. It changed in the cartoon movie. He just dies.. no fall onto a rock or anything

Titans.

The main conflict - which was also super fucking dumb - of the season was over. They were having a celebratory moment, you know how shows do. And then a fucking tower that got damaged in the fight falls over, Wonder Girl pushes a little girl out of the way, and she sits there holding it while it electrocutes her to death. This is despite the fact that Superboy, who had been shown to be fast enough to fire a bullet and catch it before it hit his target, was ten feet away. And then just to undercut what meager emotion could be pulled from this rushed, godawful scene, not five minutes later, Raven says she thinks she might be able to bring her back to life.

nah, he's just a "regular" person, who was raised as an acrobat, and was trained by Batman

Yes it was supposed to be lame as a "Reality Bites" situation but getting your cape caught in a door is a worse way to die than having things thrown at your head

How about super-villain? I remember in X-Force, Kamikaze got beheaded on accident. He was running at Archangel, Archangel turned not knowing he was there, and his wings cut his head off.

The Arrow/Flashverse crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Oliver Queen dying. I don't know. It just felt weird to me. I understand his show was ending, but I felt that was the only reason he died. The Monitor said he (somehow) "saved billions" which was cool but the way he died didn't feel impactful. It needed to be more emotional.

I always liked how lame Captain Amazing's death was in Mystery Men. Accidentally fried by a doomsday device because the people trying to free him couldn't follow his instructions.
