An added point that is a bit cold blooded sounded but true is that if a group of people that are on average old enough to be retired people die you would actually expect to see the opposite of a labour shortage. What's actually happening is market being free, and employers in certain industries are just being stubborn about competitive wages. Why take a shitty job for shitty pay, when the not-quite-so-shitty jobs at not-quite-so-shitty pay are just as desperate? There is no labor shortage, they're just all working better jobs. Only reason I havent quit my job is carryout being supercharged meant a lot more tips(on top of hourly).
