okay but people who work at McDonalds are still working and contributing towards a functional society, they should have their basic needs met

Not arguing with a living wage, just think people under state their skill when talking about wages.

Actually some folk can't work at McDonalds or even work at all due to disabilities and whatnot.

Sure. More qualifications are needed for higher paid jobs. Nothing wrong with working in fast food places and from experience it's a demanding job with very little reward but a job is a job at the end of the day. I don't have any issue with people who don't work for whatever reason though. Many people have different walks of life and circumstances that makes them unemployed. I don't value people any less for not working as that would make me very hypocritical and there is more to a person than what they do for a living. It's actually quite irksome that most the time when I meet someone the question always comes up "what job do you do?".
