Actually because 1 Celsius increase is almost equivalent to a 2F increase you actually do less work.

Water freezes at zero and boils at 100

Makes much more sense than that weird farenet crap you americans use. And miles wtf who understands that. It's kilometers. Gee.

The temperature water freezes at is irrelevant in the context most people use temperature. Most people just want to know when its cold or hot outside.

Temperature water freezes or boils is irrelevant. Do I need a jacket or not?

Yes because people have different perceptions of what is hot and cold. 20 to you is t-shirt weather but to Crono thats cold. That is when having a wider scale comes in handy.

we dont use them outside of things that need to be extremely accurate like human body temperature
because decimals are cumbersome and our scale is accurate enough to not typically need them, unlike some fuckin thermostats ITT wow lmao

I didn't read the rest of the topic, but I'd like to also say that 68 F is not cold.

Fahrenheit is supreme.

0= really cold

100= really hot

Can't get much simpler than that.

Yes, a wide scale is much better at gauging the temperature outdoors just by reading the 10s digit.
0F is extremely fucking cold
10F is extremely cold
20F is very cold
30F is cold
40F is a little cold
50F is cool
60F is pleasant
70F is perfect
80F is warm
90F is hot
100F is very hot
110F is extremely hot
120F is extremely fucking hot

I mean, scientifically it makes sense

Water isn't just some random substance

That's the thing. Celsius makes 1 billion percent sense for scientific applications.

For day to day, IRL stuff, I genuinely believe it makes more sense to have the upper thresholds of the ambient air temperature to be around human body temperature. Like, 100 being around human body temp and approximately the hottest it ever gets in most places, seems more practical for weather forecasts than a scale where a third of the time you need to go into the negatives.

Tbqh, schools should teach and enforce both to students since both have their strengths and weaknesses.

Its 100 degrees outside!

pretty much where Fahrenheit came from. They had no idea what they were doing with everything else, but man when that thing said 100, it was too hot. And thats what matters. XD
