$35 in tips for the night stream, and going overtime didn't help. I watched a bit of a restream and it was just a bored middle-aged man playing King of Fighters and occasionally complaining between long stretches of dead air. Even when he's not being completely toxic, he's so incredibly boring that any new viewers would give up almost immediately.

Just because chess hasn't changed doesn't mean someone skill will consistently stay at a high level without playing. Crash bandicoot 3 hasn't changed, but I also haven't played it in about 10 years so if I pick it up it's not like I'm going to be running the time trials perfectly again. Yes, chess is more about the brain, but you're still going to forget some things if you just cold stop playing decades ago, which it sounds like he has. Phil is full of BS on a lot of things but when he talks about his high school days I usually believe it. We know he really was valedictorian and he also hadn't screwed his life up beyond repair then. So I'm willing to side with him on that aspect. But it's lame and telling of his own laziness and inability to improve or freshen up his content that he won't to entertain the idea of such a stream. He's deathly afraid to break apart from any routine, even when his current routine has him tanking

He comes damn close to sounding sincere in that video, like he really doesn't want to pressure people into becoming members if they can't afford it and wants to encourage people to become members by offering the possibility of playing Halo with him. I have to admit that there are rare times when he almost comes across as an okay guy.

BUT... it's all completely undermined by the constant toxic behavior and shameless begging we see literally every stream. Plus, his memberships perks are garbage. No one gives a shit about hitting the membership goal just so that they can watch him gobble down food he doesn't need to be wasting money on. And how many times has he hinted at doing multiplayer with viewers only to later on change his mind?

Honestly the most absurd thing about the gambling thing in Judgement is that he thinks him resetting a game over and over for half an hour to game a single hand of blackjack is good content for his audience and he just can't understand why nobody donates or watches.

I watched it via DDM yesterday and it was nearly unwatchable, the NPC's literally never shut up, ever. They never gave time for jokes to land or breath, never let the game happen, just constant talking and repeating the same info only using different words constantly.

I dunno what you're on about, the game is fantastic. Great story, fun gameplay with extremely customizable difficulty(not everything has to be extremely difficult, y'know, but it has options for it to be), great voice acting, and best of all it's an entirely single player game. And the music is 10/10. They even have a band they made specifically for the game.

Now, DSP is an idiot, don't get me wrong, but even a broken clock right twice a day.

Phil definitely does his best to make "fun" a toxic word in games criticism.

It definitely is. My friend was watching me play over PS4's shareplay and said it looked janky and boring. Gave him control and he had a blast.

It's a weird but great game, and easily a contender for GOTY.
