You are free to say what you want but until i see you and a group of people helping improve your community through genuine altruism the christian god will continue to thrive and the teachings of jesus christ will live on. The christian mindset brings beautiful cultural values that enrich the lives of everyone close to them. The only reason i would see to go against organized religion is if you were seeking personal gains to improve your life by sacrificing the values of christianity so that you can be more "free" even though if you just follow the bible(i doubt you have actually read it) you will not have problems that you will need to sacrifice the integrity of the teachings of christ. That alone proves prayer works. Besides the countless testimonies of others you can test this out for yourself. Pray to god to help you with your anxieties for instance and you will receive relief from this the more you pray. That is just one example of prayer actually working. It is just as effective if not more effective at treating anxiety than taking a xanax. People prefer the xanax cuz it gets them high. Like i said in my post most folks do not want to be a good person in accordance to the scripture, this is why it says in the bible that in order to receive salvation from your sins you must first humble yourself and seek him out, and through this you are rewarded in amazing ways like jesus/god has done for me. Sorry you would rather cling on to the sense of security you get from feeling intellectually god proof than to actually humble yourself and let the grace of god work on you. You can take a horse to water but you cannot make him drink it. Its up to you to seek out god. Most people do this at a very vulnerable point in their life where they got nowhere else to turn to. Starting before that point and living by faith is much better than having a miserable life and then choosing god as a last resort. Even then jesus will save you.
