It's like a more offensive version of the B word and oruginated as a vulgar word for vagina. Don't think there is any historical oppression or anything. We decided it was worse as a society than B. C word is probably not as offensive in Australia and UK since it's said more often there. F word was originally to describe sticks, but yeah it's been derogatory for a long time still since mid 20th century at least, although some gay people call each other that relatively affectionately or men call each other that in an attempt to make them less of a man. --- Less is more.
