Huge fan of his comedy, but damn. All he does is talk about the trans community and I really just dont care about that issue all that much.

Very sympathetic towards that community, but Im not in it. Im a straight white male enjoying the easiness of my life and acknowledge my privilege.

Just weird he focused almost the entire stand up special on trans people. Theres so few of them in the community. Almost like he has a fixation with transgender people. I dunno.

Anyone else fairly disappointed in Daves latest Netflix hour?

I turned it off after 20 minutes, it was painful to watch. It was just a bunch of lame, shitty transphobia basically, wrapped up in a veneer of comedy. Probably will not give it another shot if the whole special is like that.

It was hard watching the ending to this special. I do not know what this guy was thinking with the way he ended the show. I did not find it funny in the least, i was in tears. Whatever point he was trying to make fell flat. He was completely out of line.

That special was fucking stupid. I knew dave was a piece of shit but i never expected him to be such a fucking tool. The ending to his new special was cold and insensitive.

Just finished it.

I stand by my statement, KTS was his best work, and it was over two decades ago. He used to be so consistently good, punchline after punchline, his specials for the most part were rollercoasters of laughter and wild shit.

This special was a dissapointment, he had two or three good jokes, but most of it was just bizarre transphobia and petty remarks.

Hey, you're not trans. You don't get to decide what is and isn't transphobic. Saying that we're lying about ourselves, that trans women aren't "real" women? That's transphobic. I haven't seen the new special yet and not sure if I want to, but his last one definitely had jokes I would consider transphobic and he ended it with a weird I have trans friends excuse to make it all okay. I found that really weird at the time, so wouldn't surprise me if he went in on it this time. Not saying if it is or isn't funny (haven't seen it), but that's not the determining factor on if something is or isn't expressing bigoted views.

Also lmao, I'm literally banned in over 1/3 of the countries of the world. And even in countries where I'm legally allowed to exist, there's been successful steps made to make transitioning impossible, as well as making it so I couldn't use basic facilities like the restroom or even a women's dressing room without facing charges that would label me a sex offender. But that's kinda the point--his statements weren't really funny because they weren't jokes; he was just telling us how he feels, which is basically that he's upset and confused with the change in gender constructs (in like the, "I'm an old man and don't get it" kinda way). So, he's telling us he's transphobic in a way that's not particularly funny and honestly a bit awkward, weird and disappointing.
