Lisa actually has really high damage numbers. Her issue is just the clunkiness of her kit.

Actually, all of the starter characters are pretty good if you really use them correctly, but Kaeya is the one that surprises me the most that you went so long being ignored. He's really surprisingly good.

Sounds more like you'd want to hoard primogems. Acquaint Fates may be useless in this new banner.

There's a few free sources of acquaint fates independent of primogems. I would never advise converting primogems to acquaint fates.

Right, but if it's a new currency, chances are good that you'll be able to trade primogems so those are what you should hoard.

He's just saying it's not wise to assume free aquatints will always be worthless. I've been hoarding mine for a while since I have one of each standard 5 star character. No point pulling for standard dupes, might as well hold out in the off chance they give them more uses.

Kaeya's talent that generates energy when he freezes characters is like a Niagara Falls of particles.

Everyone loves him in Blizzard Strayer, but imo he is the ideal Shimenawa's character. Especially with his extremely high main attack multipliers.

Yeah basically the way it works is as long as you wait the ICD out, after applying pyro once, you never have to apply it again and you can effectively convert Kaeya to pyro damage this way. So if you never use Kaeya's burst and only use the skill he does tons of damage.

I've got C0 Tartaglia. I invested all my primos and the remaining Google Play credit into Intertwined Fates. I am very much hoping I can get to at least C3 with 140 pulls (I have Starglitter for 6 more pulls). If I can make it to C4, I'll actually spend money to get to C6. Otherwise, that's my limit.

Obviously this would require winning several 50/50 and also not hitting hard pity every time.

If it becomes clear that luck is not on my side, I'll save some fates for a guaranteed Hu Tao.

I've almost gotten Kaeya to 80, with 7/7/7 talents.

I have him in Shimenawa's, with 66% CR and 160% CD

Dude is straight up wrecking the abyss. Doesn't matter if I run him as main or sub DPS. He's at least as good as the best 4-stars in his various roles, and his main DPS potential is very clearly underrated.

And this is at C0. Fully F2P Kaeya.

I'm running him with Mistsplitter since it has so much Crit DMG, but if I run him with Ayaka's Blizzard set I'd probably use Jade Cutter.

I'm using Jade Cutter which frustrates me because every artifact is rolling CR instead of CD. I got 145% CD and almost 90 CR

I'm just left wondering about how Kaeya managed to slip under the radar for so long despite being so blatantly powerful with even modest investment. It's like what happened with Bennett, except it went a whole 12 months instead of 3 months.

I mean, most guides do list Kaeya as the best of the guaranteed characters by far. He also has a Keqing Mains page going into detail about how to use him. I have also seen plenty of people singing his praises here and on reddit.

I think it's pretty common knowledge that he's a very good and useful character.

Kokomi in one team and Zhongli in another feels like having 1 Zhongli for each team.

I finally managed to win spiral abyss floor 11. Teams were

Ganyu + Kokomi + Xiangling + Sucrose

Ayaka + Zhongli + Bennett + Mona

A smooth gameplay allowed me to play properly. Kokomi made a huge difference which Barbara could not.

I have a hot take

Mona is disappointing in Freeze comps if one does not have a super CC like Venti or Kazuha

Kokomi doesnt need Venti or Kazuha to shine in freeze comps. I was struggling to freeze enemies with Ayaka + Mona but Ganyu + Kokomi and Ayaka + Kokomi made freezing a lot easier without really needing a CC. Sucrose was just their for VV

Kokomi also allowed me to take Zhongli with Ayaka instead. I didnt care about shields to protect Ganyu as Kokomis burst was always up on time and her skill is also available on time as well.

All Mona has going for her is Omens buff

I made a huge error a couple of months back that Ive only just now discovered.

Well, okay Ive made plenty of huge errors while playing this game.

I pulled Ayaka on my secondary account but skipped her on my main because I already had Ganyu. Finally got around to building her and holy shit is she fun to play, and Im not really even done with her yet! Had I pulled her on my main account (which I was guaranteed to do because I had the wishes and the guarantee), I wouldve probably missed out on Yoi but I wouldve gotten Raiden as well.

IIRC C4 Jean with C6 Xiao is the literal highest DPS comp in the entire game, and nothing even comes close.

I already do that with other characters. It only takes like 2 shots from Ganyu to drop him and my Hu Tao and Raiden Shogun can nearly one shot his weakspot with a burst.

What's even better about that combo is that it works like Xiangling/Xingqiu/Bennett/Kazuha compressed into two characters, which allows you to have another two characters to do whatever you want.

On paper and in practice a C4 Zhongli (really just a C2) is better since healing is useless outside the current abyss and Zhongli's shields reduce enemy RES.

I just now realized - Raiden actually makes C6 Electro Traveler work, and vice versa. Traveler is hamstrung so badly by her need for a battery, and her talismans reward a crapload of ER to whoever switches in and picks them up. They are basically made for each other. Traveler's Ult is actually really powerful at C6.

I just 9-starred the Abyss 12 using C0 Kaeya in Shimenawa's as my main DPS using a Raiden/Traveler Superconduct team

Kaeya's main attacks do almost 10k per attack

And the wild part is that it was faster than my previous all-5* star team

Not always. But in co-op, you typically can't control who you're with. So being able to make up for a team being kind of weak, or help teammates recover if they make a mistake, is very valuable. On top of that, a well built Jean has a good chance of being able to finish most domains even if everyone else goes down, due to her moderately good DPS.

Now if you're always playing with people you know and picking teams deliberately Jean may not be very useful, but that's completely different and not even very comparable to the way most people play co-op.

I said "one of the best," not "the best in every situation." Zhongli at C2 or higher is probably the best co-op character in the game. Though Jean is still better in some situations, like if you have Xiao or Kazuha on your team.

You're saying Jean is useless. Not being as good as the best character (in most situations) doesn't make a character useless.

Xiao would be the best user of that set since it increases Plunging attack damage and his burst also changes his attack damage to Anemo. It would be tricky to use tho. You'd have to burst then somehow get 15 energy really fast then activate the skill. It would work better on small groups of weak enemies since killing them will drop orbs or particles.

Gentlemen, I'm going to do it. I'm gonna Triple Crown Tartaglia and blow all 150 of my Intertwined Fates on trying to get him to C6.

If I can get to at least C3 or C4, I'll whale the rest.

He may not be the best character in the game but by golly he's so much fun to play.

Seems like 3 in 150 would be pretty lucky but not outrageous.

Tried one more time:




I'm gonna guesstimate that it'll take around 550-ish pulls to pull him 6 times. My low is 460 and high is 720.
