According to Wikipedia "Led by the United States with the support of the British Commonwealth, the occupation lasted from 1945 to 1952 and involved a total of nearly 1 million Allied soldiers."
Looking at the dates (2021 - 1952 = 69) everyone older than 59 either experienced the occupation directly or grew up on stories of it. I wonder how many revolts there were. We certainly do not hear much about revolts in this country. How are these two subjects related well at all? It's not like the US defeated Japan, destroyed their culture and enslaved them for hundreds of years.

The Dutch colonized the dutch indies (indonesia) for 300 years. So that's a closer comparison.
