I've seen one in my neighborhood. Although, you would think being the main breed of a classic film would raise how many people would want one. Perhaps back then they were more common after 101 Dalmation's release, idk.

I hear they are pretty difficult dogs to deal with, though.

I remember hearing they were heavily inbred during the days of the live action 101 Dalmatians. I was almost bit by a dalmatian around that time. He had gotten loose and came up to me wagging his tail. As soon as I even started to move my hand toward the dog it bared teeth and started growling.
