like, i'm pretty financially illiterate/ignorant myself, but even i can understand something as simple as paying a balance in full on time and then getting free money in the form of cash-back/other rewards as a result

you build/maintain good credit through all of this too

it's literally win-win

and yeah, i understand that not everybody has amazing credit and consequently can't get approved for some of the better credit cards

but even average credit qualifies you for at least a basic 1% back card as far as i'm aware

Well you can start at 0 and build up..... Just use the credit card on gas or whatever and pay it off. Should be a normal thing.

Yeah, I try to make as many of my purchases as possible on my credit card. I think my favorite credit card already has like $600 cash back that I can redeem off of it.
