Its like they are on a team and the coach said they have to be antivax, anti mask, deny Covid, etc. So they all just do and tell everyone else to.

the craziest part is that their entire base are the ones catching it and dying from it, and they still are in denial.

politics are team sports now. you have to dedicate yourself to the cause and not even waver a bit or else you're "off the team" (RINO). they are dedicated to their art of deception and denial.

There really isnt a single coach. It really does start with Trump because he is the main person responsible for politicizing this whole thing, but he isnt antivax himself. He did deny Covid and is anti mask though.

He also started the alternative medicines for treating Covid trend.

What I'm saying is that's why the rhetoric started, then it just snowballed.

The way America's political system works, partisan-ism or "team politics", is the best way to get what you want. By agreeing with the group, you get support & assistance when you need it.

This isbasically how much of America's political system has been functioning for years, with both politicians & voters simply voting for "the team"; why else do you think Roy Moore still stood a decent chance in the face of outstanding scandal? Things simply got more overt with Obama & Trump's presidencies.

TBF, I know a small handful of Trump supporters who are for the vaccine but are against forced mandates.

Which is still silly to me because other mandates are required and we're happy to oblige them. It's just this Covid thing that they're really against.

I guess what I'm trying to get at is that pinning this on a "team politics" phenomenon seems like a way to spread the blame more broadly when the problem at hand is really only coming from one group.

There are definitely things both parties should agree on, but Rebublicans are inclined to reject anything the Democrats want. Even if it benefits everyone.

They were on board with vaccines when Trump was still president trying to take credit for it.

His supporters would never turn on him. They would probably make up something about liberals forcing him to do it somehow.

Its not coming from one place.

Everyone who joins in in this is partly responsible, more so for people with influence over others.

They are intelligent enough to realize that they dont have to think the same things and push the same narratives as everyone else on their team. But they dont and the anti-Covid movement is an end result of this.
