The season that apparently was infamously scrapped so they could re-write everything to include current events like the pandemic and the whole "killing black people by police" thing

I have no problem with them scrapping it to rewrite it. My ex used to watch SVU and i hated how they dealt with it.

Framed it like for cops it was no big deal and it was protestors making it a hassle for cops

It's been pretty good so far. I feel like one of the episodes with a fan favorite character could have been a lot better but overall as a final season it's been good. Way better than Superstore's at least.

I hated superstores ending. Jonah just kinda fell into Amy's world instead of making his own life. People can break up and be happy.

mistake. people watch sitcoms to get away from the current shitshow going on IRL. season's going to flop and then five years from now we'll get the snyder cut season 8 we originally wanted

Yeah. I loved the show, but I watched the first episode of this season and it was so cringe inducing. It's really unfortunate, but maybe the other episodes this season are better. I'll probably get back to it eventually.

Considering it was already half a season, I wish we'd gotten both, whatever they had and their additions for more episodes, I always love more B99

Them re-writing it to tackle the issues we're facing today was a good idea. It was their responsibility as a show about cops in today's climate, and I respect them all the more for doing it. If they hadn't, it would've felt very "dude, read the room"-y.

The season was also still good in general. A bit more serious since they had to wrap up character arcs and and everything, but it still felt the same as any other season. I do wish it was twice as long, though, with the standard amount of episodes. But it is what it is -- still a good sendoff to the show.

I especially loved Rosa a lot this season with how they took her character.

Yeah some B99 is better than no B99. Both it and season 7 were barely half seasons, but you have to sacrifice quantity for quality sometimes

You know what episode I really liked? The moo-moo episode from several seasons back. When Terry was apprehended in his very own neighborhood by a racist cop (dude who played the one dude on Dexter).

Thought it was a great episode that handled its subject matter with nuance for a comedy show.

they laid it on a bit thick in the first episode, but it was mostly for absurdity's sake. it mellows out after that, and some of the stuff even in the first episode is pretty poignant and solemn.

Yeah this is my take away so far as well, I'm a few episodes in and they mellow out considerably after laying it on rather thick in the beginning.

I still don't like Holt and Kevin separating offscreen though :/
