The company seems like a completely different company now compared to when we got Vice City and San Andreas.

V is ok but doesn't feel like it's better than Vice City or San Andreas. Obviously the graphics are better in V but the gameplay and things to do aren't better than the other two. I miss the vigilante,fire fighter and paramedic missions. Those were fun and gave bonuses in both games.

Maybe it was the soundtracks too that made the games better.

GTA V was good and keeps a good online system running in terms of gameplay to its playerbase. (scummy sharkcards aside) and RDR 2 was a masterpiece of a game.

I wouldn't say they've gone wrong anywhere.

As of now their main creative person isn't there anymore, but GTA IV, GTA V, and RDR2 are all games that I enjoyed immensely

Also can I say it's really weird to live in Edinburgh and meet and/or date people who work for Rockstar basically every week and it to be just a normal part of life here

I think their flaw was when they tried to focus on the story.

They didn't seem money hungry back then and didn't need to re-release the same game across 3 different console generations.

The story mode/offline doesn't feel like it has as much replayability as what VC or SA had.

GTA V was a big step up from GTA IV but unfortunately they realized that they could milk GTA 5 for profit with online and lazy rereleases and so why bother making another good game? They don't even have any real competition to force them to step up there game.

Theyre owned by take two, the most predatory monetization game company out there

I'd say the problem is the overall game formula has gotten a little stale and the gimmicks they try to introduce aren't helping.

Look at the difference between AC2 and AC Odyssey. Had Ubisoft kept making games basically similar to the Ezio trilogy then AC would be in the same place as GTA right now.

Never been much of a rockstar fan personally. I've enjoyed GTA, but mostly just as games that I can mess around in for a few hours.

The latest update is ok but there is so many problems with, it's very rare that they fix any bugs that result from the update in a timely manner.

They've known about problems with the last update but still haven't fixed the issues, it's always the same response "we're aware of the ongoing issues and are working to fix them".

This company doesn't like to take responsibility for the ongoing issues with their game.

Can you really blame Rockstar because people keep buying the same game over and over and continue to buy in game currency for about 8 years now? GTA5 is behind Tetris and Minecraft as the top selling games of all time, very impressive. Im willing to bet GTA5 has made more than GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas combined, Im not even gonna bother to look it up.

This isnt the fault of Rockstar, its the fault of gamers, I myself have paid for GTA5 4 times now but not a dime on Shark Cards.

Im enjoying how pissed people are at them currently for their bullshit PlayStation announcement of GTA5 on the PS5.

I like the old games and the new games, but personally I prefer a more grounded GTA. It's one of the reasons I loved IV when it came out, plus its incredibly good supporting cast which is something V fell short on

I don't think they've gone wrong really.

But their games are less gamey than they used to be. They want the world's to feel immersive and the stories to be taken seriously. So that's probably your big issue.

I just wish the missions allowed more player freedom.

That was a thing back on the 360/PS3 and yes it was annoying to not be able to afford something and a text pop up and let you know hey, you could buy a Shark Card

Not really a thing now but I almost always have at least 200k. The Cayo Perico heist was a game changer, literally. You could make 2 million in an hour and a half or less solo. Even now its easy to make 1.5 solo in an hour.

Play the game, dont buy thing you dont need. Invest, simple

It's just a tired franchise. IV was a step back and V isn't exciting. GTA III series it was all fresh and nothing like it had ever been done. Now it's all old hat.

Games on this scale take at least 5 years to make now unless they work on a production like like Ubisoft.

No real way to avoid it anymore. They took that long to make RDR2 even with a large amount of crunch.

Remaking the same game for a decade

GTA online is where they went wrong it prints them billions yearly sure but everything else suffers no GTA dlc no red dead dlc and alot of the guys that made rockstar great left

Whatever theyre doing theyre doing it right. Why come out with game after game when 1 game is making enough. Its sports games and Gta for me, so I would absolutely love a new one in less time but you cant be mad at people for making money.

The thing about GTA V is that it still holds up today graphically the last gen systems made this one one of the best, for the current gen toss in constant updates of its online mode in terms of new stories and cars, races, other content and it will probably keep going as long as they keep putting money into it both Rockstar and its rabid fanbase.
