boxed for 4 years so I did mostly cardio and bag work with calisthenics

Havent lifted weights since high school.

kinda self conscious at the gym because its filled with tons of fit girls that seemingly know what theyre doing lol. Idk if I have my form right r wrong.

I did chest presses, barbell curls, and tricep extensions snd then bag work to finish the day. (Short trial day)

about 3-4 sets and 10-12 reps each. No idea if thats what I should be aiming for. I just increased the weight until it felt comfortable to where I can do reps correctly with some warmup sets.

their punching bag sucked and no room to move around so probably finding another gym

does CE have tips?

I would start doing a basic full-body regimen for a month to get you acclimated to feeling sore and recovery. Then you can split your workouts to target more specific groups (i.e upper/lower, PPL, etc)

To start, do a little bit of everything but focus on compound exercises at first like squats, deadlift and bench press. Also throw in some bodyweight ones like pullups, pushups, leg lifts and crunches.

Yes, find a weightlifting program on the Internet and follow it. Don't waste your money on a personal trainer.
