and since pandemic started? If the movie had made same amount of money pre pandemic would that be considered a flop during a 11 day period for a Marvel movie? Just curious how it compares to popular movies before and since the pandemic started

It nearly tripled the previous Labor day weekend record for a movie release.
Final figures for Destin Daniel Crettons martial arts adventure over the Labor Day weekend have come in (via Deadline), and Shang-Chi has drawn in just over $90 million for its four-day debut. It was previously estimated to pull around $50-60 million, due to the extenuating factors. That includes relative audience hesitancy to return to theaters as rising cases of the Delta variant of covid-19 have seen mask mandates and vaccination card checks hit key theater markets over the past few months. The figures are record-breaking, not just for the pandemic-era box office, but full stop: Shang-Chi is now the biggest Labor Day weekend opening at theaters since 2007's launch of the Rob Zombie Halloween remake, nearly tripling its take of $30.6 million. https://gizmodo.com/shang-chis-record-debut-shows-a-pandemic-wont-stop-peop-1847628868 --- In Belichick we Trust ... Just curious how it compares to popular movies before and since the pandemic startedCompared to pre-pandemic it's not a smash-hit or anything, but it's pulling in great money for September regardless of the context. Just that most Marvel movies don't release in September, so it's hard to gauge it against similar releases. It has the Labor day weekend record and is the third-best Domestic opening of all-time in September. But it's not pulling in money by the truckload. --- I write Naruto Fanfiction. But the movie is a pretty big success so far anyway. --- It says right here in Matthew 16:4 "Jesus doth not need a giant Mecha." https://imgur.com/dQgC4kv ... Copied to Clipboard!

movie is pretty epic especially compared to BW so it would definitely be a shame not to experience it in theaters.

I did watch it in theaters but I am debating on whether to watch it again in theaters or wait until it's released on stream so it could be "fresher" cause if I watch it multiple times then each time it probably won't feel as amazing as the first time ... It's on the low end of MCU movies (also doesn't have China release which most if not all did), but it also didn't have the budget a lot of the MCU titles did and is tracking well

it's doing alright even considering it's not being released in China, which happens to be the second biggest country for marvel movie revenue.. and this during pandemic times...
