The Force Unleashed?Awakens. Typo, it happens. Zonbei posted... anyways luke had not flown for years. He rode around in a land vehicle at low speeds. Unless youre talking about some EU shit. Rey already knew how to fight, had survived on her own in a hostile landscape, and had done flight simulators.https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/T-16_skyhopper Luke also is mock-flying around a model of a T-16 skyhopper in one of his first scenes with the droids after their purchase. It is not the same thing as his landspeeder. "I used to bullseye Womp rats in my T-16 back home, and they're not much bigger than two meters". <------ He even has prior experience shooting small targets from a moving craft! Zonbei posted... used the force to fire a torpedo without instrumentation is somehow less Mary sue than Rey using the force to wield a lightsaber? A thing the force explicitly allows Jedi to do?Ok, let's compare. Luke Skywalker: Flew T-16's for years, was qualified to apply to the Imperial flight academy, was referred to as "the best bush pilot in the Outer Rim territories" by his friend Biggs, could "bullseye" small two meter targets from a moving craft. Blew up a battle station by: flying well and shooting a small two meter target from a moving craft. Rey: Lived in a broken down AT-AT, scavenging parts from wrecked Imperial and Rebel craft on Jakku. Apparently somehow had flight simulator training from.......where, exactly? Skilled in stave combat. Rey's actions in the sequel trilogy: Flies a starship in a successful escape from multiple TIE fighters with no prior experience flying anything*. (*sans alleged "flight simulator" training. Again, from where exactly? She's been on Jakku since she was a child.) Successfully Jedi mind tricks a stormtrooper despite no force training whatsoever, and not even knowing what a jedi mind trick is. Defeats Kylo Ren (someone with years of Jedi training under Luke fucking Skywalker) in single combat with a lightsaber despite never having held a lightsaber or used one before. Granted, Ren was injured by a bowcaster shot to the side, and was in emotional turmoil after having killed his father, so there were factors helping Rey there. But she was an expert at stave fighting, and then switched to a sword fighting style without much of a hiccup (extra note: why did she not have a lightsaber staff eventually? It could have been unique, and more importantly, fit with her character) Give somebody a working lightsaber and tell them to duel without cutting one of their own limbs off. Then she moves tons of rock with one hand to free her friends from the caves behind the rebel base they were sheltered in. Keep in mind that when we see Luke in the second movie before he has any formal Jedi training, he struggles to pull his lighsaber from the floor of the Wampa cave to his hand, a distance of less than 10 feet. It doesn't. Rey fights with a staff, something that's weighted. Lightsabers are weightless. General fighting skills do not flawlessly transfer from weapon to weapon. and shooting Womp rats in a speeder doesnt translate to shooting a port on a Death Star in a trench in a battle. My point remains the same. They both used the same magic fucking powers. --- It's a luscious mix of words and tricks, that let us bet, when we know we should have folded. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Awakens. Typo, it happens. it is extremely hilarious AND disingenuous that but you framed that all the way you did lol. Give Luke the short and sweet description to downplay what he did while leaving out numerous events, go on for paragraphs about Rey while making up reasons she shouldnt be able to. Newsflash, Jedi dont cut their limbs off because they use the force. Combine that with basic combat training, and its not a huge leap. my guy. I know plenty of pro choice liberal that are misogynistic. Theyre a dime a dozen here in my state. We had a ton of them in the spotlight, remember the Bernie bros? Luke has no melee weapon training at all and manages to deflect three blaster shots while blindfolded during his first time using a lightsaber.
People strong with the Force pick things up quicker. That's how it always has been. It should also be pointed out that nearly everything Force power wise has had a boost since the original movies. That's kinda what happens when a franchise like this has been around for a while. KOTOR itself was already an example of that. --- Kind Regards, Darmik ... Copied to Clipboard!

yeah thats definitely what happened. I definitely didnt make any points beyond that. You got me.You didn't though. The only part of your post that could be considered a rebuttal was the "newsflash" bit, which addressed one teensy tiny portion of my argument. (Not shockingly, the only part you could dispute) You completely ignored me pointing out Luke's prior flight experience and his experience hitting small targets from a moving craft, which directly ties into what he did at the end of ANH. His struggles utilizing the force early on, which is something that is literally never shown with Rey. Seriously, show me one instance in any of the three movies where Rey struggles to do something basic with the force like Luke did. Hell, show me a part where Rey struggles to do anything. Flying ships, blaster shooting, handling a lightsaber, using the force. She does all of them with no hesitation and no awkwardness, and you can't hide behind "b-b-b-b-but space magic helped her" because it already showed the son of Anakin Skywalker struggling to do basic shit. And the funniest part is that you throw out the tired old "misogyny" excuse, like I'm just so burned that Rey is a woman. I like the character of Rey, and some of my favorite movies have strong female characters, like Ellen Ripley and Sarah Conner. And do you know what makes them great? They didn't start out as invincible badasses doing everything flawlessly. They scraped and clawed and persevered against adversity and became badasses. Rey did none of that. Oop now I can fly a ship. Oop now I can shoot a blaster. Oop now I can jedi mind trick. Oop now I can win a lightsaber duel. Oop now I can move tons of rocks with a gesture. Oop now I can hold my own against First Order elite guards. Oop now I can literally heal grievous wounds.(GENERAL KENOBI!) That's not good character development, and if a male character was doing the same thing, my opinion wouldn't change. That's why Steven Seagal movies suck dick, because he wins every fight in those movies with ease, usually without ever being touched. --- Twice impeached, one-term President Donald J.
