I'm hyped, this might be the first game I buy upon release since the original Darksiders.

Well, aside from the fact I bought Baldurs Gate 3 the day it went on sale for EA.

I'm not sure it is anymore with the way they're writing the story.
Loki and Angrboda need to fuck and she needs to have a wolf baby.
I don't think they'll be doing that with the characters as young as they are.

theres nothing stopping them from

killing kratos in act 1, time skip ahead to an adult Loki and Angrboda copulating to which Fenrir is born, throw in a time loop of going back to save kratos in act 2 and then finishing off Thor and Odin in act 3.

its just something I threw together, but games have thrown curveballs before with their stories leading the audience to believe something else.

What's the over under on Kratos being killed or imprisoned in this game and then the third game has you just playing as Atreus?

I don't doubt we'll eventually play as Atreus somewhere down the line, but we've only seen him summon some animals and shoot a bow, so idk how they can make that feel as engaging as Kratos' mechanics.

I don't enjoy his character. I personally think he was the worst part of GoW 2018 (even tho he was the driving force of the story which was good) and I don't think they can change my mind on him in a 20ish hour campaign.

I'd rather Kratos have to inevitably kill him or something. And that's not because I don't like him but I think that'd be more compelling than the MC switch that Sony games have kinda been doing a lot lately.

God Of War is a massive success & is clearly Sony's flagship exclusive series now. I'd be shocked if this is the final GOW game.

It definitely wont be. God of War 2018 hinted at the existence of Japanese, Mayan, Egyptian, and Celtic gods so any one of those mythologies could lead a new line of games in this series.
