https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-08-26/giuliani-says-his-election-fraud-claims-are-substantially-true

Rudy Giuliani told the judge overseeing a $1.3 billion defamation suit filed against him by Dominion Voting Systems Inc. that he intends to largely stand by his claims that the voting technology company rigged the 2020 election to hurt Donald Trump.

Dominions lawsuit is barred because some and/or all of Giulianis statements complained of are substantially true, Joseph Sibley, an attorney for the former New York City mayor, said in a court filing Wednesday, spelling out his planned defenses after failing to get the suit dismissed.

The filing states that Giuliani will argue that Dominions claims are barred by the First Amendment, attorney immunity and so-called litigation privilege, since he was representing Trump when he made the disputed statements. He also plans to argue that Dominions election work makes it a governmental actor, depriving the company of the right to sue, according to the filing.

So basically, Rudy Giuliani is going to lose this lawsuit

I hope he has $1.3 billion to pay

Standing by the claims that it was rigged seems like classic Rudy bad lawyering.
Bird law in this country is not governed by reason.

He kind of doesnt have a choice. He cant defend himself by saying he was making it up or lying because that is what they are trying to prove. He has to dig in if he wants to fight, as dumb as it seems.

The whole concept of a litigation privilege is bull shit anyway. As a lawyer, I want them to go so hard on this POS and everyone else that was involved. They make the entire profession look like a joke when there are some basic ethics rules that a lot of us take pretty seriously. He should lose his case and have to pay out of his ass for the rest of his life. He should lose his license and never be able to be involved in politics again.

Isn't Sideny Powell's defense that she was making shit up and no one should take it seriously?

Got to wonder what happened to him mentally. This is the guy behind the fight against the mafia and he helped put away several mob bosses and many of their underlings.

The sanctions hearing was great. The judge directly asked all of the judges on the Zoom whether any of them spent any amount of time vetting the ridiculous claims they filed in the affidavits. COMPLETE silence.

More proof that everything Trump touches turns to shit... though Rudy was actually a POS before this, he just did a better job of hiding it.
