It was pretty janky but it was okay. Felt like more of a tech demo than a game but I had fun with it. The sequel is better in some ways but the first has its charm, I would say get it for cheap if you can

I think theres a good deal of facility parkour as well. Regardless, it is worth playing in 2021

There's a decent variety. Some levels are inside buildings, others get you to ground level and you have to parkour around parked cars and boxes and stuff.

I haven't played much of Catalyst but I remember really liking the first game.

Both of them are really unique and there really is not any game like them. The first is pretty short tho.

Both are very much worth a play though. Also the ending song of the first game is amazing.

It's been years since I played Mirror's Edge, but I thought it was amazing. The first person POV was extremely immersive and unlike anything I had experienced before, and the cityscape was diverse, breathtaking, and captivating.
However, the game's also short but difficult, and most of the time I was too busy running away from foes to truly take stock of the impressive environments.

Its a groundbreaking game that has stayed with me after all these years.

The original Mirror's Edge is amazing. The second Mirror's Edge is decent.

Something seemed off about the FOV.

I've seen both, but especially the original go on like 90% sales. It's very worth it. It has a good campaign. The game in general is a bit ahead of its time. Dice made it and they did so in a very immersive style, and the art of the game has held up well cause it looks both high fidelity and yet is really simple at the same time.

One of the achievements is to not use a gun in the game (except like 1 part I think it forces you to), and if you're up for it I'd reccomend paying that way, its really rewarding cause the build the game to be playable like that.

I haven't tried the sequel but I need to, I own it. Haven't really played the first one in a long time.

If you like Mirrors Edge, youd probably like GhostRunner.

I found the combat cool too. The melee anyways the guns are just for making things easier. I particularly liked doing a slide kick to the nuts

I barely remember catalyst but iirc thats the one thing it did better. It was more open world I think and you could just fuck around between missions and just enjoy the rooftop parkour

It wasn't for me. I'm not a huge fan of first person to begin with unless it's VR.

same thing i felt.

but the with the first mirrors edge you can use guns OR just disarm enemies and knock them out. Plus flip them off

i remember playing it on PC and couldnt make it past the first or second level since the game always lagged like crazy at a certain point then crashed...

The first person is what made ir for me. I have a fear of heights so it did a good job making me have "oh shit!" Moments

Game probably should get a VR re release

The game becomes so enjoyable once you get a feel for the controls and how the engine sorta works.

To this day, I find myself looking at things when I'm out and about like I'm playing that game

Mirror's Edge is amazing. If you enjoyed the demo then you'll enjoy the full game. It's an enjoyable experience from start to finish. The level design is great and the ambient music is so chill when you're not being shot at. I spent so many hours playing and replaying that game. I even double dipped on it.

And while Catalyst doesn't leave as much of a lasting impression as the original, it's a good game as well.
