Having played all the way through the game on PC with Ray tracing and everything, I'm kind of surprised how decently it looks and runs. Though I'm sure it probably runs like ass on the actual PS4 / PRO.

Except now the "atmosphere" is as barren as the game itself. They fucked up royally trying to save a last gen version nobody will be playing a year from now when PS5s and Series Xs are more accessible.

Even when I play through and beat it at launch I never got the vibe that it was unfinished, instead I felt like it was almost over-finished, if that makes any sense. Like it would have benefitted from a lot less superficial content and a lot more focus on the core gameplay.

Honestly, where they really screwed up is by making the last gen version a guaranteed upgrade. Since you can get it for like 10 bucks at Best Buy.

Probably should have just canceled the PS4 and X1 versions.

That's fair but not a bad deal for those smarties. When I bought the game at launch (LOL me btw), my immediate top 3 thought was the disc was going to be eventually used as the PS5 upgrade placeholder for whenever that real version comes out anyway because I had a feeling PS4 would be overloaded given the hardware's chugging performance with games like Prey 2017, Fallout 4, and Control.

Getting everyone's $50 asap on the PS4/XB1 version was all they wanted, regardless of whether they were going to commit to next gen shortly after or not at all (which we all know how that's working lmfao).

Likely in the first half of December to coincide with the games 1 year anniversary.

Releasing it on last gen was a mistake. The Pro, as good as it is, still struggles with the game.
