Grotle is boned, sap sipper means he cant use STAB and even superpower doesn't 1 shot (and afterwards lowers his stats)
Miltank just outspeeds and beats his ass since he does 0 damage

I have distinct flashbacks of Miltank squashing my Grotle, you can't even outspend your opponent with full restores while they drain out their PP, Miltank eats Grotle for Breakfast.

They have Miltank lying on it's side and then transforming into a rock for some reason. Miltank (as per the anime) is supposed to curl up into a ball and then roll like a wheel.

I guess it's because they didn't want to have unique animations for every pokemon that knows rollout, but what's with this lying down business?

They're contemporaneous, but you can tell they were not working in parallel with each other.

Pokemon Stadium 2 was released in December of 2000 whereas the Miltank episode of the anime come out in August of 2000

Of note:

All references and shots of Meowth and Cyndaquil sucking on Miltank's udder were cut from the English dub,

And there are limitations to what can be put on the cartridge, yes, I am aware

I just don't like the disconnect between seeing it in use in the anime and the reality of using it in game. There are a few moves that are super cool in the anime but are kinda meh when used in game.
